  1. So, obvious question. Is it meant to be Metric? There are many other threads it could be. Does the manufacturer say to use metric?

  2. Are you sure about your bolts? I’ve fitted hundreds of mudguards to suntour forks, pretty sure it’s an m6x1

  3. It should be an M5 (standard rack/mudguard bolt size), so it’s possible yours is partially stripped out – the threads do look a bit rough in the video.

    If it was mine, I would either drill (5mm) and tap to M6, or just drill it straight through and use a longer bolt and nut.

    Looks like there isn’t any thread left in that hole.

    If that’s the case you’ll have to re-tap it to the size you need it be.

  5. Don’t mount a rack there unless you confirm it’s designed for that. People mounting racks on fender eyelets result in far too many ER trips.

    In future, know you can always use a threading tap if a thread is damaged. Or just rethread and go one size bigger.
