      was he flashing his lights at you too? or being a dick to the cyclist behind him? very strange, glad you’re ok at least

      Maybe annoyed at your flashing front lights ? They’re forbidden in my country (France)

      Looked like they might have had some beef with the other cyclist. Whatever it was it was reckless driving

      I can tell from the video your llight is blinding everyone. Lights are meant to illuminate the GROUND. Cars will still see it indirectly.

      Looks like it’s because of bright flashing.

      Guy is a moron to behave like that.

      But bike flashing lights often are horrible and dangerous. It doesn’t really make you be seen better. It makes everything be seen less – harder to tell the size of vehicle (like does it have a wide kid’s trailer?), distance, is there 2 more bikes being it? It’s just confusing to everyone. I’ve seen a number of times cars stopping thinking it’s an ambulance that needs space, while it was a bike on a non collision path.

      I can see you wrote you have a cutoff, but the guy’s reaction could be a hint it doesn’t work that well. Those blinking street signs even when you were right next to them, mean your light clearly was hitting it even at this steep angle. That’s not how cutoff on my light work. 

      I’d investigate there.

      There was a video on r/YEGDashCam yesterday where a black sedan type car driver was being unnecessarily hostile, and tried to get out to fight too, I wonder if the same guy

      Driver was probably annoyed from your flashing headlight. If you can see the reflection in the tall road signs, you were most likely blinding everyone on the street.

      Flashing/strobe headlights are honestly more of a hazard than not having lights at all. Use (less intense) orange/red flashing side lights instead if you want the same effect, much less obnoxious.

      Car driver is an ass.

      But flashy lights are also really distracting. Especially as front lights. As a cyclist I also dislike others using them. My poor eyes.

      Also those lights are sometimes brighter than some high beams. I get that it is important to see and be seen but that’s just insane.
