Hi all, it is NBD and I am putting this bike together, when getting ready to install the rear wheel the cassette just slid off, it wasn't locked on to the driver. It looked like everything was in place, I re-assembled everything and installed the wheel, all seems to be normal but should the cassette be locked on to the wheel at all? Or does this style of cassette just stay in place once the wheel is installed? This is Superboost spacing with DT Swiss 350 hubs if that matters. thank you

This is standard for DT hubs
They just push on and pull off. Nothing wrong.
It’s standard for a lot of hubs, so be cautious when you take the wheel out
Just don’t do that when everything is dirty like they show in those really bad tiktok and IG reels. You don’t want dirt inside.
The cassette is still locked to the driver body but yes this is common for dt wheels. It is actually very handy when doing maintenance.
Great, thank you all!
Don’t forget – it’s easy to lose the ratchet spring when the hub falls off. In your case it looks fine – it stuck inside of the freehub body. In dt swiss 350 you should have 2 springs, 2 ratchet disks and 1 cylinder (black or silver)
Can I see your bike ❤️
