I just converted a carbon road frame from 1x to 2x. After experiencing shifting problems, I noticed that both rivet nuts that hold the FD hanger are slightly loose and can be pulled ~1 mm outwards.

Is this fixable DIY? It's a cheap Chinese carbon frameset and not worth much.
Should I order a rivet nut gun and try to fix it myself? Can I make it worse and ruin the whole frame? Or should I simply try to glue the rivet nuts using Loctite 648 or something similar?
TIA!

Best way is to remove and replace the rivets. I have had luck with using regular JB Weld with small braze-ons with proper preparation.
Go electronic shifting. The cable tension is too high for fasteners to hold in the seat tube on a 1x frame. In a 2x frame the carbon would would be reinforced and the hanger bonded as well.
If it’s a round tube, you could get a clamp on hanger. If it’s an aero tube and you’re really ambitious, you could try to custom machine something.
