    I rock mine with that stock wheelset and big chunky tires for gravel, and have an alternate wheelset for road riding that’s a little lighter and with a different gearing. I bought those straight from state bikes on their website and they’re nicer even than the ones that came on the bike. I run 40 ring with 16 tooth fixed, and I think 20 tooth freewheel for gravel. Good enough for me, I can always swap 44 ring and 15 tooth cog for longer, flatter, faster rides if I want as well.

    I’ve also got a dropper post because I like to sometimes do mtb trails where there’s good flow and I enjoy having a “seat” when I’m also waiting on some of those longer red lights.

  2. So glad you got your new fixie! You’ll love it! 

    I’d recommend getting some foot retention as soon as you reasonably can, and if you don’t plan on using the freehub, removing the rear wheel and the housing. It’ll shave quite some weight! 

  3. Firstly, congrats on getting a sweet ride. 
    This frame is heavy for 4130 but the main tradeoff for that is super tire clearance. To really shave the weight you need to spend $$$… Probably spend more than the cost of the bike to achieve that. See if you can get cheap chainrings/cogs to experiment your personalized ratio.
    But for sure starting with tires>tubes>wheels is going to give you the biggest gains for efficiency
