  1. I’d go with the trek, it will be way more comfortable which will help when you are doing training rides. It won’t be a good time trying to put all a ton of time / miles on a tri bike. You can also get a dedicated tri race bike later on if you want to stick with the sport

  2. I managed a trek shop for a number of years, definitely go with the Madone. The felt is going to have an aggressive forward position that may not be what you’re looking for. It’s not a bad bike, but if you’re ever looking for something to ride outside of training or events, the felt isn’t the way to go. The madone will still be fast and responsive, but way more applicable for casual/general riding, and not as aggressive. Plus the madone will give you a higher chance of swapping out parts if you want to play with the fit, aka stem length and angle… 

    I don’t know how many bikes you have or what your cycling history is, but The trek version is the speed concept and when I sold those it was usually the person’s 7th or 8th bike in their fleet…
