Hi all,
Recently, I encountered an issue with my bike where it would constantly jump gears. Having brought my bike to the LBS, we tried wrenching the pulley, which seem not to fix the issue. After a couple of tries, they concluded that it was an issue with the rear derailleur, which caused the bike to jump gears. Should I take it to another LBS to get it checked out?
And if I need to change my RD, is there any major differences between a SRAM AXS force D1 and E1? I found the D1 to be on sale for $230, while the E1 to be $375. I dont feel like spending too much money if the performance is the same, as Im trying to save some money where I can.
I really appreciate your opinions and thank you in advance!
LBS said that my RD was flimsy. Is this true

looks ok to me
seems like a normal amount of play. could you post a video of the bike “skipping gears?” if it really is an issue with the RD, then the force e1 and d1 will perform the same. the e1 is the latest generation which is marginally lighter. the d1 will do just fine especially for that price.
Seems normal. Did they check hanger alignment? Start there, and maybe see if the axs software is up to date
The first letter is indicates the “Generation” of the product, the next number indicates which “Revision”. New generations will generally address major issues of previous generations, and new revisions are slight changes on an existing product. SLF might have spring tension settings you can adjust, you would want to make sure it’s on the highest tension. Is your cassette worn? Is the chain worn? Has the freehub been inspected?
A good shop should have the means to pull a wheel from a new bike and test ride your bike for process of elimination.
OSPW likely won’t hold the tension as well causing it to jump under load. They work great in a few gears where chain line is ideal, but across the range of the cassette, these jump. Especially as they age. Put the original pulley wheels and cage on and see if it helps.
