I'm mostly a fair weather rider, generally riding when it's warmer and dry and the roads aren't wet or muddy. Never in the rain unless I get caught out, which is rare as I always check the weather forecast before heading out. But now and then I ride on wet or muddy roads, especially during the colder months, and need some protection from that.
Recently I went on a fairly short ride with a friend, several days after a snowstorm. It had started to get warm so the snow was melting and the roads were wet and muddy, and try as I did I couldn't avoid riding over it. When I got home, my bike was filthy and the back of my jacket had lots of muddy spots on it. So I resolved to get fenders for such conditions.
Any recs for basic ones, front and back, nothing too fancy or expensive but which work and won't break after a few rides? I've heard good things about SKS, but they're a bit pricey given that I won't need them that often.
I did come across these on Amazon and was wondering if folks had experience with them or ones like them at this price point:

Mucky Nutz Mug-guards – go them on both my tandem & hardtail MTBs… they’re excellent and easy to fit/remove if you only want to use them ad-hoc…
I partially solved this problem with some stuff from the Ass Savers catalog.
I never bothered with front fenders for road, I just use an ass saver rear fender for wet rides, damp roads. Light, cheap, flexible plastic, easy to mount under saddle, folds away to store. It keeps most of the spray off, preventing that diarrhea butt look and keeps the rear tire rooster tail spray from getting in your friend’s eyes behind you.

I use Planet Bike full fenders.
I have the rock bros fender on the rear but not the front. It does the job. I’m also a mostly fair weather rider. I haven’t had to tighten it more than just regular tunings. I’ve had it about 4 months.
I use ass savers front and rear [https://ass-savers.com/products/win-wing-2-gravel-black-dots](https://ass-savers.com/products/win-wing-2-gravel-black-dots) rear and [https://ass-savers.com/collections/all/products/mudder-mini](https://ass-savers.com/collections/all/products/mudder-mini) front. They won’t keep your feet dry but you won’t be wearing mud up your chest and back and they’re easily removeable. There’s also these if you want more coverage [https://sks-us.com/products/raceblade-pro-xl-fender-set-fits-700-x-25-32?pr_prod_strat=e5_desc&pr_rec_id=3fd331e44&pr_rec_pid=4949869887620&pr_ref_pid=4949869265028&pr_seq=uniform](https://sks-us.com/products/raceblade-pro-xl-fender-set-fits-700-x-25-32?pr_prod_strat=e5_desc&pr_rec_id=3fd331e44&pr_rec_pid=4949869887620&pr_ref_pid=4949869265028&pr_seq=uniform)
