Folding bikes are awesome for the right application. I have two Brompton’s and take one on nearly every trip I go on. I gate check mine like a baby stroller and ride from the airport to wherever I’m headed. They’re a little special in the fact that they fit through TSA’s XRay machines.
Instead of FKM, maybe the subreddit should have RPS, for Ride, Pass, Scavenge. That’s an R for me.
Got Brompton a year ago. As a result used my gravel bike like 4 times this season.
Highly recommend to get a bike with a carrier block mount. It is the most useful thing ever. Having a front bag with me all the time.
And yea, they rated for 110kg, long telescopic seatposts also available. As well as spare parts. And lots of aftermarket parts.

I’ve had a Bike Friday Tikit for ~17 years. Very handy bike if you live in a urban environment. You can throw it into a car boot easily, take it onto a train or bus easily and roll it folded into a shop or office so you don’t have to lock it up outside.
I love folding bikes. They are the most useful and versatile bikes for cities and travel.
But even if I didn’t like them generally – I’d like THAT awesome machine you’ve got there, it’s the most xbiking folding bike I’ve seen. Well done!
