Recently had to replace my chain, chainring and cassette. Updated from 11-32T cassette to a 11-36T. My RD is max 34T.
I am setting it up for smooth shifting on the middle and largest chainring and gears 2-9 because I never use the smallest chainring or largest sprocket in the rear when riding.
I currently used the big-big method on the largest cog. But feel that shifts can be snappier. Can I optimize shifting for those gear combos by shortening my chain a bit?

Just look up a tutorial about how to install a new chain and set the correct length.
