I have recently bought a single speed bike that i want to convert to fixed gear. I am having issues with the chain tension since my backwheel tends to move when i apply large force (uphill) or the ground is uneven. This makes the backwheel slip and the chain tension drop which sometimes leads to the chain falling of the bike. Since this can be desastarous when riding fixed gear i first want to adress this issue.
My back wheel is fixed in place using a contraption like below. I have tried to move and thighten it on 3 seperate occasions thightening it harder and harder each time. Im hesitant to do it again since i dont want to strip the nut.
Does someone have any tips to ensure this doesnt happen again and the wheel stays in place?

Have you got a washer with (chamfered?) ridged sides? That can help with grip. Other than that, tighten it more. Arm tight.
