I am looking at a new Domane AL 5 Gen 4 which is aluminum frame with carbon fork and shimano 105 for $2100. Or a used Emonda SL6 which is carbon frame and R8000 groupset for $1000-1200. I plan on using the bike mainly indoors and also potentially mounting aero bars on it for an Ironman.

If you’re just going to put it on a trainer get the used Emonda. For weekly riding outside, for me, I’d get the Domane.
