Bought this bike yesterday, altus shifters were bad (of course) managed to free them up and get rear shifter working but front one doesn’t seem to move the derailleur enough. Adjusted everything and still. Should I move on and upgrade or is there still hope?
If I were to move on would these be a good replacement? Will the switch from cantis to v brakes be simple? Anything I need to know before?

There’s always some tiny risk but they should work and be good… these are compatible with canti brakes there is just a little tab you have to adjust on the inside of the lever arm
These are garbage OP, they will feel like a downgrade compared to the older stuff you have on there now. You should get the rapid fire shifters left and right and a set of levers instead. They’ll work much better and last much longer than these.
Beyond the compatibility / quality advise you have received you might look at bike24, bike-discount, or bike-components for good prices on correctly labeled bike parts that don’t have any risk of being counterfeit and aren’t enriching one of the worst billionaire turds.
