Great news for anyone and everyone who rides the Willapa Hills Trail out in southwest Washington state. Contractors working with Washington State Parks have added 10 miles of fresh gravel between mile 28 at Salmon Creek and mile 38 at Lebam, with more to come within the month. Get out there and ride it, it's absolutely beautiful!

Forgot to mention, the best public access point is the Pe Ell Trailhead just off SR 6, about 20 miles west of Chehalis. Discover Pass required. Pe Ell to Lebam and back is about a 36-38 mile jaunt with 1200′ gain as you go over the Coast Range divide twice.
Nice! Willapa Hills Trail in the fall is incredibly scenic – I usually try and get out there and ride it once a year.
