  1. Seems like it’d work. Are you doing 1×7 or did the bike come with a Hyperglide 8+ speed hub? 1×7 with something like a 40 and 11-34T would kill me here, but otherwise seems solid.

The finished product seems fine for your purpose. Good for you. Why spend more on a winter beater in this economy.

  3. As long as the bolts are tight and you are riding safe then there is nothing to roast.

I would argue the idea of using Amazon in general for anything, you could have tried to source a used frame for cheap from a bike shop or from someone on Craigslist and then gotten used parts. That’s super nitpicky, but if you’re dying to be critiqued then there ya go. Have fun with the bike though

  4. I hate it. Looks like a piece of crap. Nice work and should get you from point A to point B!

  5. Keep an eye on your seatpost clamp. I assemble Amazon bikes for my students, and about 50% of the clamps fail. In this design, a clamp fail means you have a sharpened post for a saddle. 🙁

    New seatpost runs $20.

  6. If there’s anything to hate it’s the weird title of this post. Asking for roasts? Come on now, have some self respect.
