Black bean soup with couscous! Packs light, excellent protein source, and cooks up fast with one round of boiling. I add dried parsley, garlic, salt, and pepper to the couscous. Flavor bonus: add a tablespoon of oil or pad of butter, finish with lime wedges for a bright hit of acid. I need to source dried bean flakes and will try making my own black bean soup mix. π«πΎπ

Looks healthier than ramen. How much salt?
I’ve used those exact soups for years as a cheap substitute to overpriced freeze dried meals. No point in buying the expensive stuff at all with lots of options in the stores. However these days I don’t bother cooking and just buy ready to eat choices or pick something up from a restaurant I happen to pass by.
