Restoring a 1981 GT BMX. Any suggestions for removing rust pits? I've tried steel wool and Never Dull but can't get it all especially on forks and in weld joints

Evaporust and krud kutter are some of the products I use to remove rust. Also a brass brush but a real brass one and not a brass plated one.
