Rick Steves, the travel writer and PBS host, spoke with Lulu Garcia-Navarro, host of “The Interview,” about which European cities and attractions are a must-visit and which ones you can skip.
A memorable thing we did on a European cruise was meeting up with family in Naple, some of whom spoke only basic English, going to a hole in the wall restaurant and soaking in the joy of lively people, food awesome too. Get off the beaten track.
Rick is describing how I’ve traveled, how I raised my child to travel. In my work, I’ve imbedded into cannabis communities around the world, and have found my tribe everywhere.
Without having heard his advice, we pretty much do all that when we travel. It's pretty amazing. We once pulled the bus stop cord and got off it to go to some local Rotary or Optimist Club local fair in Italy. We were the only two non-italian people amongst a sea of hundreds of locals. Got a great dinner and wine for like 5$. Good times.
Traveling is a lot like watching films. Some places, like some films, leave a deep and lasting impression, and can change your perspective. Other places you enjoy in the moment, but leave no lasting impression, like RomComs or superhero movies. All-inclusive resorts come to mind.
Rick Steve's is really trying convince people to get naked and sit with a bunch of other naked guys in sauna..like we didnt allready know he is a closet communist homo

Skip cities with uncontrolled migrant movements, especially places with large muslim migrants.

I don't like his advocacy for marijuana.
