hello good afternoon this is sadim if you haven't met me before I'm a nurse from Southeast England in today's video I'm going to talk about portsmoth if you want to come to the UK and you don't know where to go and which area is the best to go and is it safe uh is it safe to live in what kind of environment what kind of weather do we have here and is it um what is the crime um crime great here in the UK so I will just share my experience I don't like to go um and Google stuff about uh what is the criminal rate or criminal record in here in portsm because I'll get scared okay so I'll just tell you about my experience I've been living here for the past 3 years and how we feel is it good for us to live here and what kind of uh what people say people of portm say about the portsmoth and um um I think it'll be helpful video Let's dive in without any further delay thank you yeah so I have got my eyeglasses on so I can see you properly why I said that I don't like to Google stuff about the crime rate here in the portsm because obviously I live here and I still need to live here and um no place is safe in the UK no place ever is safe in the UK wherever if you want to Google you can Google London London is the most famous um in um the world uh and the criminal rate crime rate is very very high there isn't it so if you're going to search about uh things about criminal record or crime rate it's not going to help you it's good to know I mean when you are new to if when you are very very new and you want to move I think it's wise uh to uh do your research check about the area and uh see is it good or bad or what kind of people do they uh what kind of people live there and um is it going to be okay for you to live there obviously it's good to research but um relying on the research is is is not um uh not very wise in the practical way I mean um I've I've heard um I have uh researched about portsmoth before coming here and then um compared I compared it with the other cities of the England uh just to see just to compare and to see the comparison where it wasn't leading me anywhere I was just going around and around around in the circles so if I like one place for example if I like portsm okay for example pmo doesn't have a very high crime uh crime rate and um uh how about how about the accommodation is it getting cheap here or not how about the weather most importantly because um weather of the portm is very very nice I'm telling you we've got summer we've got winter spring autumn so all the um what seasons we have here uh so in terms of weather portm is really really good and uh so it's just not uh about the crime rate you also need to know the other stuff you need to know weather you need to know the people you need to know the area whether it's a commercial area or um whether it's um Society where you're going to live and um you need to know about these things you can Google them and search about those and see whether it's going to be a safe area for you or not wherever you go in the world okay so if I say overall is portm safe I can say it's safe but it also depends on you uh what we do is um we have um uh we have loads of pubs here a lot of people they drink alcohol here and it's going to be the same everywhere wherever you go in the UK it's going to be the same okay and uh you need to make sure that you do your own safety okay you need to find a house which is not in the commercial area which is a busy uh you need to find a house where it's a living area I mean where it's a society where you have couple of more houses around you you've got um Supermarket to do your grocery you've got um a GP surgery close to you have you got a park close to you have you got a school near to you so you need to know these things Al and if you will be uh having a house where you have a community around where you have a a surgery around or where you have a school around or parks around I think it will be much easier uh for to for you to go for that choices instead of looking for a safe place to live okay so if you are going if you're going to live in a community obviously there will be other people living so it won't be a big problem isn't it and if you will be having a school or supermarket close by it will be a bit busy area so you shouldn't be worrying too much about whether it's safe or not right and uh same applies for the school same applies for the GP surgery there will be people coming going and then you want have to worry too much about that you wouldn't be worrying too much uh on top of that you also need to know about if there is any if there is any Pub if there is any Pub around your house is it very how many uh meters is how many kilometers is the pub from your house and because in the evening when you go home um let me tell you very very clearly here in portsmoth people after after 8:00 in the in the in the winter for example in the winter it's it's it gets dark from 4 4ish or uh 3 3ish uh in the evening so from that time it's going to get dark so you won't see any people around and in the summer uh because of the sun around 9900 p.m. 10: p.m. you will see still still see people around but after 7:00 very less people around um around the area you won't find a lot of people so if you are the one walking around you need to make sure that um you maintain your safety and you follow your safety uh safety um I mean you do your own safety so what we do is we don't go out very often uh after it's 8:00 p.m. and uh in the summer it's all right but in the winter after 5:00 or after five 6:00 we don't go out so that's how you protect yourself and if you have to come back from work around 9:00 uh there is no other way I mean you have to come uh to your house so maybe you can call your family member or someone to come and take you from there or uh there are lights in the streets no need to worry about that there are lights in the street and I haven't seen any uh problem so far with that but you can keep your um uh what do you call it I've got a I've got a key with with um what do you what do you call them the key with the holder when when someone try to snatch the key and then the alarm will go on so you can buy those from Amazon if you are worried and sometimes if you see somebody coming closer to you or something like that you can just pull it and then it will make a big noise and uh the other person who's trying to snatch your bag or trying to do anything he will run away just just giving an example uh it's been very helpful uh uh I pulled the the key from the keychain I think once only and uh that was I think he was drunk or something he was just walking behind me I was coming back from my work and you know my uh flat that time was only one minute walk from the bus station to the to my house so in that I just got down from the bus and uh there was one person I probably he was drunk or something so he was just walking behind me he didn't say anything he didn't do anything so he was getting uh I was walking a bit fast so uh initially I was walking slowly and then um uh as soon as I noticed that someone is behind me I W I started walking fast and then he was just following me like and I look behind and he was very close I just pulled the buzzer pulled the thing and then it made a big noise and he ran away I don't know what he thought what I'm going to do I'm like calling someone or what so anyways by that time he ran away and then um a one minute walk only one minute walk and then I just entered into my house so it's just a safety meure that you can you can you can use that thing and um also yeah don't go out in the evening if you have to uh in case of like uh the um basic need then obviously you will be you will be going out but other than that um try to avoid but yeah I'm telling you that no place is safe in the world no place is safe in the UK so make sure you do your own things and uh yeah Port smooth weather is very good um accommodation is cheap uh as compared to other parts of the uh as compared to London uh I don't know about the other areas but uh I have heard Birmingham Manchester is much cheaper but um here Asian Community we don't have a lot we don't have uh we have a Pakistani people but not too many and um we got more like Indians and Bangladesh is here so if you are looking for if you are looking to move uh to the UK to the port Community we have uh people but not a lot of them so if you want to um uh come around it's perfectly fine you will still find people I've I haven't seen any nurse uh from Pakistan in my hospital so far but I've seen loads of doctors and uh I have seen um um other professional uh professional mostly doctors but I haven't seen any nurse uh but I heard there is a nurse I'm I'm hoping to see her very soon and yeah but there are lot of Pakistan a lot of Indians and bangali Bangladeshi people and um a lot of um uh uh not many but some nepales people as well and yeah weather is very good here it's cheap um accommodation is cheap groceries are uh accommodation is um compared to 2 years ago it was it is a bit expensive now but um still as compared to London it's still cheaper here so accommodation like for example one bedroom flat that we were living in we were paying 750b uh initially it was 650 then increased to uh then it increased it got increased then you have your bills on top of that if you're looking for two-bedroom or three-bedroom house it's going to charge you around uh, 1300 to, 1400 nowadays if you want to live close to the hospital it will cost you more and um uh then you have your gas bills you have your electricity bills you have got your water bill as well and on top of that if you buy a house uh you will be paying the mortgage as well so all those things uh if you are thinking to uh otherwise it's the same everywhere you pay your tax you pay your um Insurance uh what do you call it pension and all those bills so if you are a nurse you can survive very well without any hesitation and some people still do some Bank shifts if there are any available you can do Bank shifts yeah and I would say pormo is not bad at all to live and especially especially because of the weather I like the weather here it's qu it's quite hot and cold in we have got winter and summer so it's bit of combination of the weathers so which is all the seasons so which is very very good if you go to London it's going to be very very cold snow and um uh winter all the time almost all the time but summer can be a bit chilly as well so now it's June already 1 June today and uh still we need to wear upper when we go out or a jacket um when we go out so summer is still good here I mean um uh if you compare with the other parts of the UK yes so so in all as in in short in summary portsmoth is good enough to live okay I'll see you soon soon in the next video till then take care bye-bye God bless you all
