My son got an bmx with a kink frame. It’s been sprayed so other than knowing it’s Kink, I’ve no idea what age or what model – any help on that appreciated! I want to fit him a rear brake but I’m confused what brake mount I need and then what U Brake will fit. The main issue now is knowing what mounting kit to buy. Does this have to be kink only the cheaper the better. I’m here in the UK and the official kink removable brake mounting kit isn’t cheap but if it’s the only thing that’ll fit I’ll get that. Equally, I’d be keen to know if even the official kink kit will fit as I’ve no idea the age of the frame or which kit would be correct. Any help appreciated

Unfortunately this looks like someone has cut the welded brake mounts off
Have you tried pulling out the black plugs from the brake mounts?
Despite the welded brake posts being chopped off you might still be able to fit removable brake mounts to what’s left of the original mounts with a bit of DIY skillz.
If there’s enough material to work with you could tap a thread into the original brake mounts to use the screw-in type of removable brake mount (e.g. Fiend, Federal, Total, Tall Order).
Any BMX U-brake will work with them as well.
