Hey I have seen a lot of comments that one should rather size down on canyons. This bike is more rarely discussed here but does anyone have an idea wether this would fit me as an L since it is out of stock in XL until summer of next year and on a 200€ discount. Thanks in advance

i would trust into the data they provide. providing data that doesnt fit to the customer only creates reclamations and costs a lot of money.
186/92 inseam on a L endurace and grizl. I allways go for 58 and canyon recommend L right away and it fits like a glove. The seatpost is at 8,5/10 (nearly maxed out)
People say size down compared to other brands, not in regards to their own sizing tool. Their frame sizes run big compared to other brands. Their sizing tool is pretty spot on. XL Grizl was recommended to me and it’s perfect.
I used to ride a 58 in specialized tarmac… bought a 2023 ultimate and it recommend XL, and that’s what I bought and it’s perfect. I’m 195cm / 93 inseam, and this bike does not feel “big” at all to me. It’s like a 59, and the L is more like a 57. Large would def be too small for me.

Definitely go with what they recommend. I ride a large in every other brand, but after looking at the dimensions, i ended up going with a Medium for my Grizl. Turned out to be the perfect size.
I would recommend pulling up the actual dimensions (reach, top tube length, etc.) and comparing those numbers to that of a bike you already own if you have one, and going off that.
Comments suggesting sizing down on canyons are mostly related to being in-between two sizes.
You’re nowhere near L, so sizing down wouldn’t make sense.
