  1. Looks to be in great shape
Those shifters looks to be power ratchets, amazing shifters
One piece stem and bar is cool
    Already a rack on it

Check the consumable rubbers and you’ve got yourself a nice commuter

It that one of the early Trek 820? It sure looks like a keeper. If you are planning to do complete overhaul clean a wax the daylights of that paint even if it’s chipped here and there. Try to use the best wax you can get and you won’t even need a lot of it. Trust me -it will be well worth the effort. Those old paint jobs are often metallic and even run of the mill brands come out standing out in the crowd.

    Congratulations!

I think one clear photo from the side rather than a weird angle would be nice to see! Seriously though looks pretty good.

Extremely cool old frame very early ATB. Fully lugged and has some blemish free moose’s!! This is a score

Love everything about this bike; congrats! If it fits and even if it’s a tad heavy, this will make for an indestructible commuter, etc.

I’m starting to feel a little green with envy, lol!

  6. That’s a nice 80s classic. Check the chain for wear or just get a new chain, I’ve ruined a bunch of classics in my early days lol. Probably need brake pads also. Those brake pads get hard as rocks and will ruin your wheels.

  7. That is a 1984 Trek 830. I bought one of these in ’85 and have kicked myself a hundred times for donating it to Good Will back in 2011. I’ve been keeping watch for a 15″ version of this to come up near me so I can buy it, restore it and ride it. Very jealous!

  8. Just getting the free Eco Rack would make my week. For me, this is a great candidate for a commuter or runner bike. Trek 830 is an easy bike to restomod. If you’re inclined to make it a project bike, I’d strip the parts off, deep clean and then do a round of FrameSaver and paint touch-up/rust removal. Re-install/replace components as needed. Should be fun and you’ll have a custom set-up when you’re done.
