You’ll have way more bar options with a 31.8 bar clamp diameter nowadays, than with a 25.4/26. And still retain that classy quill look. Good move, I’d say.

Pretty sure this used to be made by factory 5, it was the only way to run 31.8 on 1 inch threaded without an adapter for a while. They used to be like a hundred bucks.

I’ve seen two factory 5’s fail. Once was catastrophic that ended in an over the bars faceplant. I don’t trust this or the thomson two-bolt stems.
