You can get a brand new state for not much more than this and if you’re buying second hand you can get something from more proven brands for the same amount of money. It’s kind of the worst of both worlds.

The bike is fine but for the money it really isn’t a great deal. Get a primos dame or Poseidon ambition for a slightly higher amount of money and you have a warranty+ a brand new bike. If not then I would check for local bike co-ops which can help you choose or build a great bike to suit your needs for what you’d pay on a Walmart bike.

For a first bike? Why not. Especially if you can get it for 400-450. Haggle! If you stick with cycling and need a different bike – which happens to everyone – you can make this your commuting bike or pub bike.
