So picked the bike up last week but due to poor English weather and no daylight after work I haven’t had a chance to ride it until today as I took a half day of annual leave to ride it finally. But as Sod’s Law goes ten mins in I got a slice in the tyre and see sealant everywhere so it’s looking like brand new tyres. I have seen online and in reviews few people saying bontrager tyres are not very good vs so looking for some new recommendations I think il just replace both. Potentially interested in some Pirelli scorpions or similar but durable but does anyone know if 2.6mm would fit on exe frame?

I like the Specialized ground controls, they’re very good imo
Schwalbe radial casings are the best tires I’ve ridden.
I’ve ridden numerous Maxxis tires especially the DD (double down) or DH whether on MTB-ebike or full suspension MTB but can be pricey…
Edit: Bontrager Team Issue tires are decent but gotta get the higher casing tires…[https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/how-to-choose-mtb-tires/](https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/how-to-choose-mtb-tires/)
I’ve also heard the Schwalbe Magic Mary are elite!
Goodluck!
Lol I went through those shitty stock tires in less than half a season. I’ve got the minion DHF double sidewalls on mine. They’re sluggish uphill but mega sticky on the way down. I love them!
Try a thicker sidewall. Any brand with a thicker sidewall will be stronger and heavier than a thinner one.
Doesn’t look that bad. Is the sealant not sealing it?
That’s strange dude. I got a similar bike. Try putting Tannus in your next tires. It’s worked for me to protect it.
Been riding on the Vittoria Mezcals and they are solid
The older XR/SE lines of tires weren’t that great tbh. The newer line ups are pretty solid, Brevards are pretty similar but improved on the SE5s. Go with the Galbraiths if you want ultimate grip and toughness and don’t mind working harder on the climbs.
Can’t go wrong with Maxxis tires that use Exo+ protection and especially their double down casing.
