Need help deciding. New FX3 or 2nd hand FX4?

Hi there guys.

Firstly im pretty new to biking. This is my first bike. I have the option of getting a trek fx3 latest model in mint, or a 2nd hand fx4 purchased in feb 2023 that is in great condition. The used fx4 actually works out about 100 usd cheaper than a new fx3. And comes with kickstand, bottle bracket and lights.

I dont really know what to check on 2nd hand bikes. So thought a new bike with warranty is safer while i learn. But it seams like a good deal?

I noticed some difference between the two

Fx4 has shimano deore which i think wears out faster than the cues on fx3, with it being a few years old, i may need to change the gear set?

Fx4 has more wider tires i think and no slick part for road (more for offroad?) I will mostly be using this in the city. Not so much off road.

What do you guys recommend i do? Get a new fx3 from the trek shop or go for a 2/3 year old fx4 in good condition for slightly cheaper price? Im new and just dont want to be paying more in repairs etc down the road.
