Trying to choose between these two bikes:

Price is almost the same — the Orbea is about $200 cheaper.

Geometry looks pretty close, but the Van Rysel seems a bit more aggressive and the Orca a bit more comfortable.

I ride mostly road, with some longer efforts and maybe clip-ons for the occasional triathlon.

Which one would you choose and why?

  1. Are you sure those are the correct prices?

Because the Orca M30 is double the price here in Portugal.

Anyway, at the prices you are mentioning, the Orca every day of the week. I recently got an M35i because the bike is designed as a climbing bike, and because Orbea’s free custom paint and parts is fantastic. With aero carbon handlebars, pedals and a Selle Italia SLR Boost saddle it comes out at 8.3kg in size 51.

Yes pretty sure, I’m from Mexico and the prices on both are roughly 2.8k usd. I know it’s expesnive but all bikes are here

  3. Orbea any day of the week.

One of the best brands out there. Plus, internal routing just looks better. I would not worry about the more aggressive fit. Literally bending your elbows slightly more wil give you more advantage than a 5mm longer reach or something.

  4. I have an 2024 Orbea orca m30i (this “i” is for di2 electronic shifting). $2800 for a m30 without electronic shifting is crazy. I got mine for $1900 used, but they’re selling new for $2,700 on JensonUSA, and the m30 i see selling for $2,100 new. the whole orca line is usually pretty discounted
