I've only ridden a bike once in the last ~10 years, but am desperate for a reliable way to commute around town. In a few days Ill be picking up this Trek 920 that a neighbor is selling, but based on my Google research, it seems Ill need to make some changes. I definitely have to raise the handlebar a bit as I am pregnant and won't be able to lean very far forward in the coming months (I am still very lean if that helps to know). How do I go about this? Do I need to change the tires too for road use? I have a repair shop nearby that can help if I have to go that route, but I dont have a lot of money for that. I understand this is more of a mountain bike, but I cant be picky as I dont have a way to drive to pick up a different model elsewhere. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  1. There’s also a Trek Navigator 2.0 a little further away that I could swing if that is a better bike, but it doesnt seem to be as good of condition as the 920 and doesn’t come with any accessories
