
This is my old GT Avalanche from college. I let a friend borrow it for a couple years and just got it back. Decided to throw some drop bars on it for fun. Trying to decide if I should keep it as a single speed drop bar bike, or just put it back to riser bars and sell it.
Yes, I would need to run the seat that high.

Looks like a keeper to me.
I have a 20 year old 29er SS with drop bars and front suspension.
That wouldn’t work for me in terms of ride comfort. That said if you sit on it and it feels good then go for it.
It may be me not seeing properly but what are you going to for chain tension? I don’t see horizontal dropouts.
