Its just a simple chain for a single chain ring (ie no derailleur).However this link wasn't from this chain, it didn't have one, but I needed it to connect them after opening it once. Is this fine?

I should be sitting flush, looks like it could be form a different gauge of chain
As you have no derailleur, it won’t cause any issue, even though it is not pretty.
Yep in this case it’s fine.
definitely the wrong size but if it’s not accelerating wear or clicking it might be ok.
Not sure about that, doesn’t look seated right on the left hand side. Probably be ok bimbling around but I’d just get a new chain – SS chains are cheap.
