So I broke the frame of my 6 month old Grail SLX (don't get me started ^^). Bike is fully insured so I did not care at first.

Problem: The insurance company wants to see a rejection of the Crash Replacement Guarantee for the frame or get the according rduced price (what would be 1.300 Euro instead of 2.000 Euro in case you're curious).

Canyon argues that the damage is covered by the Crash Replacement Guarantee but it does not apply to insurance claims (as stated on their according support page). What is imo absurd since I have to pay for the repair upfront anyway before I can either claim the money back from an insurance company or not.

Now I'm stuck in a communication nightmare between my canyon authorized repair shop and my insurance company, with seemingly no way out. Any ideas?

  1. Dry-Procedure-1597 on

They mean that your insurance company cannot contact them directly as the program is available to you only as the original purchaser.
So there should be two lines of action-transaction (Canyon-you) and (you-insurance company)

  2. They’re trying to look after you by offering to replace the frame for a discounted price, they have no obligation to do this for a third party. So the insurance replacement cost is the full price of a new frame
