2025 Grandis Overmax Imperiale at Bespoked in Dresden, Germany

Hi, this is Josh from Beach Clay Tipa and we are at Bespoke 2025 in Dresden, Germany to bring you this 2025 Grandis Overbermax Imperial, the historic brand out of Verona. Still making topnotch racing bicycles today. You will notice that this is made of Columbus over Max tubing specifically for Grandis. You’ll notice that this is in the Columbus tubing label over here. And it is a fully lugged frame. There’s also a TIG welded version of this, but it does not have lugs obviously. And this is the Impid because of the lugs. Now, I love the beautiful seat tube lug over here. You’ve got the beautiful peak coming up from the top. Obviously the quintessential G in the olive leaves on the side. These luggs are actually made in house and I’m going to show you how they do it. So this is the stamp. This is how they actually create the lugs. First they put in wax as a base. They put in a cover. They remove the wax and then steel at the top. Known as mikr fuzion. You’ll see the complete lug right here. That’s right. Once that has been brazed onto the frame, you could see the final product right here. I mean, it is a work of art. So smooth. The filing around. I mean, the brazing work is topnotch. Absolutely gorgeous. Even the dropouts are made inhouse. Same process as the lugs. You’ll see the Bre Grandes stamping on the side over here. I mean, really excellent work. Notice the tubing becomes really large, almost stellar tubing going back into this Overmax bottom bracket. That’s right. You can see the Overmax stamping on the top of the bottom bracket here. Full lug frame. Absolutely gorgeous.
