I bought a new commuter bike recently, but I was having trouble fitting it on the trains I also ride with it, since the back of the rear fender hits the floor when propped upright in the rack. Are there any options for a rear fender that won't be so long but still protect the bike frame and the rider? I wasn't seeing anything for it from doing a few quick searches myself.

It'd probably be possible to modify the original fender to do it, but if like to avoid cutting it up if possible. I ride the bike on some snowy/slushy and more importantly, salted roads, which is why I still want to protect the frame. Bike is a Gazelle Medeo T10, tire size is 700c x 45-47.5

  1. How much more clearance do you need? You could definitely trim in the existing fender and get back another inch or so, you have it quite loose here in the picture.
