We’ve been trying to convince local gov’t to put up safe passing signs, with limited success. Showing exactly where they’re needed is the next move. Nano Banana added the sign, graphics, and SUV for me.
KUDOS to Joyoneer for the jersey graphic – wearing the law on our backs is genius.

This picture reminded me of a recent social media comment I saw and now I am angry all over again.
A city near me posted a PSA about motor bikes not being e-bikes and someone in the comments added their two cents about how cyclists are always right on the white line forcing them into the other lane to pass. Like yeah lady that is how it is supposed to work. Don’t want me on the white line? Fine I will take the whole lane because I cannot safely bike on the other side of it.
Most people are unworthy of their driver’s licenses.
End rant.
Where can I buy that jersey or one like it? Nc has a 3ft passing law.
Drivers are far to busy looking at their phone to read that.
The signs are okay, but I think having that message on your vest will either not be understood (not enough time to decode especially if you are hunched over, or your vest is slightly crumbled), or it will make you a target if you _are_ understood.
Also having to dwell on the text to read and understand might make the driver more likely to suffer from target fixation.
Wasn’t that a Lynnrd Skinnrd song?
What you need to push for is dedicated cycling infrastructure, not another road sign drivers will ignore.
it will have zero effect. none. drivers do not care at all.
Related question: has anyone ever seen a car pulled over for passing a bike too close? If so, what country was it in?
Insane behavior posting AI generated content to a human powered transportation sub. Generating 3 of those pics uses the same water/power as boiling a tea kettle.
4 ft is nothing.
