Frame is a S&M next generation dirt (1997, i believe) That I've had since 2000ish. Recently took my son to a skatepark ( he brought a scooter and his bike (a 2013ish mirra minion I bought for $20 like 5 years ago) and it kind of rekindled the flame. I painted it when I got it a flat red/brown color (see pictures) then resprayed it a few years later flat black. I started taking it apart as I wanted to clean and re-grease (almost 30 years old) the bearings and decided I would paint it too. (BTW, original color is last picture, inside of BB)
Started sanding down and thought it looked kind of cool like this. Thoughts? respray original? Respray flat black? Clear it how it looks right now? other?
As you can see its fucking HAMMERED. This thing has been through hell so I thought it would be neat to kind of buy into it and just clear as/is to show its well abused life.
For anyone interested in what the hell its made up of, see parts list below (last time I weighed it it was 45 LBs, in the early 2000's)
S&M NEXT GEN DIRT frame (i was told, way back when)
S&M REDNECK STEM (not pictured)
ODYSSEY PRO DIRT forks
PRIMO 3PC SEALED CRANKS (powerbites, possibly?) american BB
SNAFU sealed pedals ( those suckers were $90 25 years ago, crazy)
SCHWINN XS 4 PIECE BARS ( got as a warranty replacement after bending a set off another bike)
KINK 44t sprocket and chainguard
ANIMAL pegs x2
seat is a hammered GT from a flatland bike
chain is KMC
FSA pig unsealed headset.
Anyway, thanks for reading my rant. Let me know what you think!

I’d clear coat it.
I’d clear coat it as it is. But if you repainted I’d get some new dirt bike decals to put on it. Check out elite bmx decals.com they have like every year of dirt bike decals there’s some really cool ones. Hell it would still be cool if you cleared it as it is with dirt bike stickers on especially the one called shit dirt bike that has like the mud on it
