I'm in the VERY early stages of planning how to spend vacation in '26. Thought about going Amsterdam – Bruxelles – Paris – Besancon – Basel – Winterthur. I live in Winterthur. Maybe this route (on cycle.travel).
Just for kicks and giggles: From Basel to Winterthur, it would be just about 120km, about 1 day. But I've done that bit enough number of times 🙂
Would you guys then just skip it and take one of the many trains that there are (it's Switzerland, after all 😉 )? Or pull through, as it's just one more day and it's somehow a bit more satisfying to make it all the way back by yourself?
It's not about planning the whole stuff 100%. It's more about how you folks would feel 🙂

Leave it open and decide by how you feel then. I personally like closing things off, so if possible I’d take the satisfaction of arriving at your front door.
