I'm not a bike collector, and currently only have 1 bike which has been an absolute work horse for the last 20 years but I feel like it's time to let it rest and find myself a new bike. I would like a "do everything" bike; one that can be my commuter, but can also tour well.
In my slow search, the Surly Bridge Club has come up time and time again and I was finally able to get on one (size large) a few weeks ago only to find that the top tube is a few whole inches to long to allow for the more upright position that I prefer to ride in (I'm 6' tall, but have a short torso and long legs).
Does anyone have a suggestion for a frame that allows for a comparable setup to the Bridge Club, but that has shorter top tube geometry?

The surly ogre?
Check out a Jones complete bike or any drop bar mountain bike frame with a slight sweep style bar. Nice and upright! Lots of Salsa Fargo riders use flat bars and love them. If the budget is lower then an older used one of those could work, geo has been the same for a long time!
