Hello again bikers

I found out the reason why my rear inter tube is flat…. It’s because of this

I don’t know what the red part is called, so I will call it the slider.

The slider slides for some odd reason and it happens for both wheels (front and rear) do I know why? No.

Please explain how to fix it because this also is happening for my front tire inner tube it just hasn’t gone flat yet.

Thank you for the answers in advance.

  1. The glue got old and is no longer gluing. Takes 2 mins to replace and $5 or less to buy

Check width or bring wheel to LBS for a direct replacement

  2. The red rim tap looks ok. Is it slipping and not covering spoke holes ? Velox cloth tape is a favorite.

  3. Your tires are too loose on the rims or the pressure is too low and they’re sliding around when you brake. Either raise your tire pressure and see if that helps, or get new tires that fit the rim properly.

  4. Easy. Remove the red rim tape and replace it with 3 layers of regular electrical tape. Cut a small X over the valve hole with a knife, push the flaps thru with the valve.
