
Was long overdue for a new chain, and cassette. After installation, any time I apply heavy torque to the pedal ( from a stop, to accelerate) my chain skips/jumps off the chainring —just the outer, not the inner.
Does this chaining look worn? Or is this more of a rear derailleur alignment issue?

Bro, you already see/know what the problem is! If you woulda maintained and swapped the chain sooner you may have stretched the life – but not this far!! (Just look at the difference in the tooth shape of small & big ring)
Yes. Looking shark toothey. The big chainring is done.
Yeah. That big chainring is worn beyond measure. Might as well replace since since you just changed the chain and cassette. I would check that bottom bracket while you are at it since drivetrain wear slowly bleeds into bearing wear.

Yeah, just wasn’t sure if this is what “toast” looks like, or if my issue was a different part of the drivetrain. Maintenance lesson: $150. Thanks yall!
