Picked up an Origin8 headset second-hand, guy said it was a split crown race, looks more like a compression ring to me… looking for confirmation. There is no other similar piece that came with the rest of the headset, so I need to figure out which part I need to buy.
Included pics of it on my fork, fit seems too snug on the steerer tube to be hammered onto the fork (30mm race)

I think you’re correct. compression ring.
The is a compression ring notice the precision cut. Broken races do not break as clean
