Ok, this is a weird one. Admittedly it’s the first time I’ve done this and it’s not something I’d normally not do but this was a weird situation and it’s temporary.
I ran out of sealant when swapping tires and the sealant in the “old” tires was only a month or two old so I figured I’d strain out the old sealant to get out any clumps and then re-use it in the new tires for a bit until the bottle of new stuff comes in. After straining it I was left with a bunch of metal flakes in the strainer. What is pictured is only a fraction of what came through. What could this be from? The sealant is Orange Seal Endurance. The old tires were Panaracer slicks.

They’re what Orange Seal calls “nanites” – basically little bits of stuff to help plug any holes and help the sealant do its job better. Unless you’re seeing any damage on the inside of the rim, it’s fine.
I am pretty sure those flakes are supposed to be in there to clog larger punctures.
