  1. I used to tie a fork to broomsick at my Grans house (In Greece) to pick the prickly pears from cactus then a long sharp knife to remove the spikes and skin to get to the amazing fruit. It's a risky business with an amazing reward if the pear is ripe!

  2. Can confirm similar on Montenegro to Bari ferry. All the good places were taken, so the staff kinldy found us a quiet place behind some benches at the back of a salon to lay down our sleeping bags.
Edit: Dont get your bike nicked in Naples, that place is wild!

  3. Have you tried cycle.travel Josh? I did my own cycle through Italy this year and found it really good for planning my routes.

The ferries I got from mainland to Sicily and Sicily to Sardinia were the same, everyone rushing to claim the best spots to lay down. Ferry from Sardinia to Barcelona was much better if you're planning to go that route. Loads of space / seats / benches to get a proper spot to lay down.

  4. Awesome video! What sport mode do you have Komoot set to? I've noticed that 'Cycle Touring' takes you on all sorts of gravel, but I always plan routes in 'Road Cycling' mode and very rarely have an issue.

  5. amazing adventure, and I bet those crazy, difficult but beautiful off road detours will be the parts you remember in 30 years time – not the easy smooth roads!
