Hi everyone,
I've managed to find a 2024 Giant Defy Advanced SL 1 (Advanced SL-Grade carbon frame) at a genuine 50% off, which is has brought a bike I have no business buying into my price range, and a deal I'm keen to go through with.
However, the retailer informed me the bike has a small "paint blemish" and offered a £50 voucher for the inconvenience. I'm trying to be pragmatic here—I know I'm getting a huge discount—but before I accept, I'm hoping to get some expert eyes on the damage.
The blemish is a chip on the downtube, right on the 'G' of the Giant logo. The bike is brand new otherwise.
I am not an expert in carbon frames or paint jobs. It this easy to touch up?Is this something you would accept a £50 voucher for, or is it a major red flag that I should walk away from?
Any grounded, practical advice would be hugely helpful! Cheers

It’s not a red flag, but it’s not easy to touch up either. You’ll likely just make it look worse than it does now. Only you can judge whether you want the bike at this discount with that blemish. Your bike is going to get more blemishes as you use it.
