Im seeing signs of uneven brake pad wear towards the top (left) of the brake pad. It seems it isn't contacting the rotor enough. Is there a way to adjust the caliper or pad? Periodically I sand down the pad flush (see pic #3) but I'm worried it will reduce braking performance if left alone.

It looks like the brake caliper might not be mounted correctly or theres a compatibility issue in rotor size, Could you show us the whole setup?
Piston is probably sticking and not retracting evenly. You can lubed them by
1. Remove pads
2. Insert 3mm Allan in the gap of the caliper that the rotor would sit in
3. Pull lever to extend pistons while holding the 3mm Allan there to stop them from over extending
4. Spray 99% isopropyl alc on piston and clean with a q tip or rag
4. Dip the 3 mm in some dot fluid and put a few drops on the pistons
5. Use a plastic tire lever to massage pistons back into the caliper
6. After pistons are reset, spray isopropyl inside caliper and clean all dot fluid off.
7. Re install pads
8.back off caliper mounting bolts (likely t25) a turn so the caliper has free movement.
9. Pull brake lever until pads are making contact again and lever has a firm bite point
10. Align caliper
