There was a fire in my detached garage and I’m trying to get info on this bike to submit to insurance for personal property loss. This bike was givin to me by my late uncle 20 years ago so I can’t ask him for details.
Looks like it is a 1981 Miyata frame. Based on serial. I remember the tires were like armadillo. Anyway. Any help would be greatly appreciated to get the most value from the insurance company

It has/had no significant value. $100 maybe?
Try searching “miyata bicycle 1981” on ebay, filter for Buy It Now items. Include shipping in your replacement cost.
It looks like it was a nice lugged frame with campagnolo and shimano 600 hubs so it would have been higher end
This looks like an old koga miyata pro racer, equipped with what looks like later gen campagnolo super record 7 speed (post-1978).
This was in it’s day a very high end frame, and still has value among enthousiasts. It was a handbuilt frame.
In good nick, sold to an enthousiast, i’d wager 5-700 bucks. See if you can find listings to support that claim, to send to the insurer.
$300
Toga/tange headset. They were a big deal back when.
at least there is repaint job and some polish work. all rubber parts need to replace too. but if cheap i would go for it
Since I hate insurance companies it’s easily worth $2000. Unfortunately they probably won’t give you shit for it because it’s an insurance company.
I bet the frame could be sand blasted and repainted.
