  1. 1. it looks like they left a bit of space there? But it’s pretty normal to cut the fork steerer to the height that you want it

  2. Kickstands! I have bought some absolutely mint 90s mtb and hybrids that would have been pristine if it weren’t for hastily installed aftermarket kickstands. They chip the paint, dent the CS tubes, and tend to be the first things to rust into place even when the bike is well cared for.

    The good thing with stuck seatposts and cut steerers is that this can be checked easily before and helps to negotiate a lower price. 🙂

    The bb isn’t so easy to check before buying though…

  4. Probably crossed threaded bottom bracket shells or cranks. Everything else can be manually or visually be checked when buying.
