Hi! I’m looking for rim-brake frameset alternatives to the Crust Malocchio rim brake model hat keep a similarly “classic meets modern” vibe, but I’m open to different brands and regions as long as the specs line up.Especially those, which are available in Europe or can be delivered to the EU for a reasonable cost.

My requirements are:

  • Tyre clearance: at least 32 mm with 700c / 28" wheels
  • Rear spacing: 130 mm OLD
  • Brakes: recessed caliper mounts (long-reach fine); cantis are acceptable but less preferred
  • Headset: threaded (for traditional quill stems)
  • Lugged or fillet brazed steel construction
  • Braze-on downtube shifter mounts
  • "Moddern" vertical dropouts preferred

If you know of any current production frames that offer something in this ballpark, I’d really appreciate suggestions. Real-world experience is especially helpful!

What’s your objection to the crust? Might help.

There really aren’t many new frames in this niche, particularly with a quill stem for less money than crust.
