  1. Have you checked the hub bearings? Grab the axle and check if it moves up and down or side to side. If it does, your problem is in the wheel.

    If it moves under braking then your QR isn’t tight enough – it’s possible that your QR is worn or otherwise crappy. Shimano QRs are the best

    They do look pretty worn and a tad misshapen.

    I can’t quite tell but are the dropouts so worn/recessed now that the QR skewer’s endcaps bottom out on the axle when tightened? That’s gonna potentially allow the wheel to shift in the dropout, but with them being vertical dropouts you *may* be able to use a washer to give the skewer cam something to push against.
