Paid $70 buck for a hard rock frame with Nitto Rivendell Bullmoose bars. Sold the frame for $40.

Those old department store bikes are great for klunker parts. Often times they would use the 21.1mm stem size which fits pretty much all cruisers (Schwinn, Monark, etc) and the crappy caliper brakes which are about the only brakes you can fit on an old cruiser without frame mods. Plus the fenders and rack are a nice bonus 😁

Nice.
I once bought a bike for the toe cages.

Man, you know you’d rather have some old BMX stem instead

Fenders too
And the rack! That is 40$ we’ll invested!

Someone was just posting about the same idea/theme the other day. And in that case, [it was also a stem he was buying the bike for](https://www.reddit.com/r/xbiking/comments/1p4kmdo/hey_guys_how_often_do_you_buy_a_whole_bike_just/).

Yes
Yes! Funny, I just did this exact thing at a thrift store today.
Well, it had a few nice parts, but the stem was definitely one of my favorites, along with suntour power ratchet thumbies.
