As he snuck onto the roof, he didn’t see the glass window, which was painted to match. As soon as he stepped on it, he crashed through the glass, landing head first on the gym floor. You see, he climbed up there to try and steal a spotlight from the school. But the fall left him paralyzed and unable to speak. And instead of being arrested, he sued the school. They ended up paying him over a quarter of a million dollars plus a monthly salary for the rest of his life. Even though he was robbing them when he fell.

  1. OK schools have a expectation to make their school safe. What if some kid would’ve walked up there for any other reason than to steal? Then we would be mad at the school, but because the guy had an nefarious intent and expose a problem going on with the school then we get our panties all bunched up when he sues, even though we had every right to.

Just like the old saying is, if you don’t put a rail on top of your roof and someone falls, you’re guilty of manslaughter

  2. That's fucked up. He deserved the paralysis. Not any money. If I were the school, I'd just tell him "I don't care." You aren't getting any money at all. Enjoy your paralysis.
